VSUAA Chapter Endowments

Chapter Endowments provide an effective and proven way for local VSUAA chapters to provide financial support to students, within their geographic area -or special interest, who are planning to matriculate or are currently matriculating at Virginia State University. Through a chapter endowment, contributions are invested and only their interest income is used to support annual scholarships.

The principal is never expended so the fund and the resulting scholarships remain in perpetuity. Annual scholarships are awarded once the fund reaches or exceeds a balance of $10,000. This can be accomplished through a Chapter contribution or many contributions over a period of time. Chapters usually announce their annual contribution amount to the University during the Alumni Reunion and Commencement Weekend held in May of each year.

The Alumni Association is proud of the permanent legacies these endowments provide to chapters and the fact that it benefits VSU students, not for today but also tomorrow. Provided below is a detailed listing of the financial commitment VSUAA Chapters have made to Virginia State University through their chapter endowments.
