About The Association

The Virginia State University Alumni Association is one of Virginia State University’s greatest supporters. Organized in 1889 and incorporated in 1949, the Association has a long and proud history of reconnecting alumni with Virginia State University and with one another, sharing its influence and resources in support of the University’s mission.

The Mighty Trojans start on the road against Barton College on a Thursday night, August 28, at 7 pm. The following week, the team will travel to rival Norfolk State, under the leadership of new coach Michael Vick, on September 6. After the bye week, they will play two away conference games, one against Winston-Salem State and one against Fayetteville State.
On October 4, Johnson C. Smith will travel to Rogers Stadium for the first home game, Military & First Responders Appreciation Day, and Family & Friends Weekend. After a trip to Bowie State, the Trojans play three straight at home against Elizabeth City State (Oct. 18), Bluefield State (Oct. 25), and Lincoln (Nov. 1) before finishing the season against Virginia Union on November 8. Elizabeth City State will be Faculty and Staff Appreciation, Bluefield State will be Homecoming, and Lincoln will be Senior Day. All home games will start at 2 pm unless televised by HBCU Go, which will start at 1 pm.
