The Virginia State University Alumni Association is one of Virginia State University's greatest supporters. Organized in 1889 and incorporated in 1949, the Association has had a long and proud history of connecting alumni back to Virginia State University and to each other, and sharing its influence and resuources in support of the University's mission.

Proceeds from every Virginia State University Alumni Associaton fundraiser and/or life membership helps to fund the Association’s Endowed Scholarship or Tuition Assistance Fund(s) which help to make a difference in the lives of deserving students marticulating at Virginia State University each year.

CONTINUE THE TRADITION

For more than a century, the Virginia State University Alumni Assocation’s mission has been two fold: 1) foster life-long relationships between the University and its alumni and 2) support the University’s programs and mission. Today, with a membership roster of over 1,000 membes and over 50 active chapterslocated across the country, the Alumni Association continues to be a committed partner to the University.

The Virginia State University Alumni Association was organized in 1889 for the mutual benefit and prosperity of Virginia State University, its graduates, former students, and others committed to our beloved alma mater. As a collection expression of gratitude to VSU we form ourselves into this association so that our work and dedication will strengthen and support our alma mater ensuing that it remains a vialbe insitution and that memories of our school life will be kept alive.

Your involvement with the Virginia State University Alumni Association provides a distinct opportunity to provide a key role in recruiting top students to the University. Your membership gives you the opportunity to work with the VSU Admissions Office to assist in the recruitment and retention of future students and new alumni. Your involvement helps to provide current students with a sense of security in knowing that someone cares for their well-being while they’re matriculating at the University.

Joining the Virginia State University Alumni Association provides parents of current students at the University with an advocate who is familiar with the University’s policies and procedures. It also helps provide leverage with local delegates to the Virginia General Assembly for University fund. (There is strength in numbers)
