Message From The National President

Greetings Alumni and Friends,

FranklinOn behalf of the Virginia State University Alumni Association (VSUAA), I express my sincere thanks to everyone who has supported the "1000 Trojans Giving $ 100 Campaign" and to all of you who have worked tirelessly to make an investment in Virginia State University (VSU).

Becoming active in the VSUAA is a selfless way to give back to the university and a way to reconnect with fellow alumni as well as students. Join other alumni who are working to make a positive difference for VSU. The Alumni Association is your lifetime connection to your alma mater.

Join a local chapter near you or consider at-large membership which is only . Membership allows you to affiliate with chapters all over the country and abroad and to participate in the many events that take place on campus. Clearly, your continued support has allowed VSU to accomplish great things, but we cannot rest now. Please join my commitment to push forward as we drive to the finish line to help make Virginia State University the very best university it can be.

On behalf of the entire VSUAA family, and especially our students who directly benefit from your outstanding generosity, I say "Thank You!"

Take The VSUAA Alumni Giving Challenge

Take the ChallengeThe VSU Alumni Association started its $ 100,000 fundraising initiative in March 2016 in an effort to match the gift of $ 100,000 that President Adbullah and his wife, Dr. Ahkinyala Cobb-Adbullah, made to VSU in February 2016.

As of July 31, 2017, we have raised $ 44,370.00 toward our goal of $ 100,000.
That's not bad, but we know we can do a lot better so we challenge all alumni to take the VSUAA Alumni Giving Challenge today by giving
$ 100.00 to the VSUAA Endowment Fund.
Additionally, we are challenging all VSUAA alumni chapters to be represented with a donation.

Alumni participation in giving is the difference toward moving Virginia State University from good to great.  Your gift will go along way toward making this happen.  Therefore, we urge you to make your gift of $ 100.00 today.
Provided below is the list of alumni who have already accepted the VSUAA Alumni Giving Challenge.  We look forward to this list growing even longer in the weeks to come.

Message From Miss Virginia State University 2017-2018

Greetings Trojan Family,

Miss VSU 2017
I am Da'Shunnda Hayward-White, your 2017-2018 Miss Virginia State University.  I am pleased to announce that I will be participating in the 2017 Miss National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame (NBCAHF) Competition, a first in the history of the University.

The NBCAHF Competition showcases young women from HBCUs across the nation who hold the coveted title of "campus queen" at their institution.  Queens are judged in five categories, and the winner receives an academic scholarship and various gifts and prizes. Miss National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame serves as a national representative and advocates on behalf of all HBCUs.  The Hall of Fame Conference weekend features events tailored specifically for the queens, such as The Queen's Tea, A Call to Womanhood, the Positive Image Program, and various self-improvement and empowering workshops.
I am humbled by the support of my advisor, Mr. Michael Rainey, and Dr. Letizia Gambrell-Boone, Vice President for Student Success and Engagement, as well as other administrators for supporting me in my endeavors to represent Trojan Nation as the first Miss Virginia State University to travel to and compete for this title.  While the University has been gracious in covering my registration, lodging, and travel-related expenses, I am still in great need of additional sponsorship.  I would greatly appreciate any monetary or in-kind donations to help cover the remaining costs for this pageant competition.  Any donations received would be used toward my conference and competition attire and props.
